Three students from the AB Communication Department took the top spots in the awarding ceremony of the Ten Outstanding Junior College Students of De La Salle Lipa held last night at the Sen. Jose Diokno Auditorium.

They were April Rose Magpantay, Campus Editor of Lavoxa Tabloid and Broadsheet and Writer’s Guild Head of the Association of Communication Students (ACtS), Jade Valencia, Executive Secretary of ACtS, and Miguel Louie De Guzman, Film Guild Head of ACtS and former Patnugot ng Panitikan of Lavoxa Umalohokan Newsletter.

Meanwhile, following on the fourth spot was Christine Joyce Perez, BS Psychology Program Coordinator, and Emmanuel John Baliwag from BSAccountancy, Executive Vice President of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) on the fifth spot.

Trailing on the sixth spot is Natalie Rae Macaraig, BS Psychology student and Psychological Organization for the Promotion of Mental Health Assistant Secretary, and on the seventh spot, Ma. Kristine Gianne Kalalo a BS Accountancy student and governor of the College of Business, Economics, Accountancy and Management.

Following them on the eighth and ninth spot are Christian Casil of BS Accounting Technology, JPIA Associate for External Affairs and Ranzel Dimaculangan of BS Electronics Engineering, Editor-in-Chief of Lavoxa Tabloid and Broadsheet.

The tenth spot was clinched by another AB Communication student, Maria Victoria Serrano, Chief Layout artist and Managing Editor of L Magazine.

The TOJCS is an annual awarding ceremony by the College Students Activities Office which aims to recognize junior students who possess the qualities of St. John Baptiste de La Salle.

Finalists were judged based on their academic performance (35%), active participation in extra-curricular activities (30%), community involvement (20%), and interview by the selection committee (15%).
