
De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) Lady Stallions emerged victorious against the Philippine Christian University – Dasmarinas (PCU-D) Lady Dolphins with a convincing 75-point advantage in the opening match of the 20th National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA South) women’s basketball tourney at the PCU Gym Dasmarinas, Cavite, Nov 7.
It was a hot start for the Lady Stallions as they aggressively attacked the basket scoring point after point against the loose defense of the Lady Dolphins.

In the first half of the game, DLSL’s co-team captain Jhasmine Laylo and power forward Ferdie Allaine De Guzman led their team to a 32-point advantage aided by Patrizia Castillo’s tight defense to limit PCU-D’s offense, 41-9.
The Lipa-based squad consistently doubled their performance in the second half of the game as their lead ballooned to 51 points at the end of the third quarter, 68-17.

Alongside the Stallions’ team captain Allen Punzalan was Lyrille Siscar who continuously went for the basket with their back-to-back combination plays and fastbreaks, giving the team a massive 70-point lead, 95-21.
Demoralized, the Lady Dolphins let their guard down which was the Stallions capitalized on as they effortlessly scored three more points to seal their first win of the season, 98-23.

DLSL Lady Stallions’ next game against Technological Research for Advanced Computer Education (TRACE) College is set on Nov. 17 at DLSL.
