Eighteen examinees out of 26 from the De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) College of Law (COL) passed the recently concluded Philippine Bar examinations, April 14.

DLSL achieved a rate of 69.23%, which is 23.27% lower than last year’s passing rate of 92.5%.

The recent Bar exam yielded 3,992 passers out of 9,183 examinees nationwide, resulting in a national passing rate of 43.47%, a decrease from the previous year’s 72.28%.

In an interview with Lavoxa Online, Mary Jan Therese Gerilla, one of the passers from DLSL, said that all she could think about prior to the release of the results was the sacrifices she made on her Bar exam journey and that it felt surreal to finally pass the examination.

“I was surprised when I saw my name on the list. To see my family happy and proud is priceless. I could not believe that the moment I used to imagine and dream about is finally happening,” Gerilla said.

DLSL was one of the 14 local testing centers for the Bar exams held nationwide last Nov. 9, 13, 16, and 20.
