De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) produced six new Electronics Engineers (ECE) and nine new Electronics Technicians (ECT) in the recently concluded ECE and ECT Licensure Examinations, April 26.

Six out of 26 examinees from DLSL passed the ECE exam, corresponding to a rate of 23.08%, which was 10.25% lower than the institution’s October 2022 rating of 33.33%.

Meanwhile, nine out of 13 passed the ECT examination, garnering a rate of 69.23% for the institution, 16.48% lower than the previous year’s passing rate of 85.71%.

Katherine Osicos, who passed both the ECE and ECT exams, said that she reviewed almost 300 questions per day up until the last hour of the exams and emphasized that consistency is crucial.

“My sister was beside me that time and when I saw my name on the list of successful examinees, napabangon talaga ako tapos sabi ko sa kanya ‘Huy engineer na ako!’,” Osicos said about her reaction after seeing the results.

Another graduate from DLSL and one of the ECE exam passers, Angelo Lontoc, shared his advice for future exam takers, emphasizing the importance of knowing the basics, having a consistent schedule, and trusting in the outcome of your efforts.

On passing the exams, Lontoc said “Pinakamasayang araw ko na nung nalaman kong pumasa ako sa board exam. Hindi mababayaran ang luha at tuwa ng aking mga magulang […] at mga taong sumuporta sa akin,”.

The national passing rate for this year’s ECE examination is 33.49%, higher than last year’s 29.69% rating.

As for the ECT examination, a passing rate of 73.69% was achieved, 3.42% lower than the previous rate of 77.11%.

The 2023 ECE and ECT exams were held at various local testing centers last April 19 to 21.
