Fashion and Attitude Diplomats (FAD), a fashion organization in De La Salle Lipa (DLSL), exhibited ecological street style fashion in Runway Extravaganza as part of DLSL’s 61st Foundation Week at the Sentrum, Feb. 8.

The runway started with FAD officers captivating the show with their catwalks, wearing various kinds of streetwear such as original streetwear, athleisure, high-end, and modern.

Each model turned the venue into streets while upholding youth and urban culture in their showcase of casual clothing styles, particularly hip-hop fashion.

In an interview with Lavoxa, Janell Virrey, the Executive President of FAD, expressed how the fashion event advocates environmentally sound outfits to help fashion enthusiasts express themselves confidently while maintaining concern for the environment.

“‘Yung mga suot ng aming mga models ay mga preloved,  […] from pants, ginagawa naming skirt o ipinagtatagpi-tagpi namin ‘yung mga lumang telang denim to make it look more beautiful […] para mas mabigyan namin ng emphasis ‘yung sustainability at fashion,” said Virrey.

Additionally, Louijene Espinosa, the Director of Runway Extravaganza, stated how they emphasized equality in terms of gender and shape in choosing their models to make a positive headway that fashion knows no distinction.

“Wala kaming sinunod na standards sa model na kukunin as long as they are […] confident and proud of sharing and showcasing themselves […] dito, we are in any shape and gender,” said Espinosa.

Moreover, the proceeds from the event will be allotted to support DSWD Regional Haven for Women and Girls.
