Amidst the decline of passers in the Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) licensure examinations, De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) maintained its steady performance with 29 new CPAs out of 66 takers in the recently concluded examination, Oct. 22.
DLSL, with a 43.94% passing rate, surpassed the national passing rate of 25.18%. This is 18.76% higher compared with the current national percentage.
However, this is slightly lower than last year’s results, wherein a total of 36 examinees out of 73 from DLSL hurdled the CPA licensure examination for a 49.32% passing percentage.
Only 3 616 out of the 14 358 examinees passed the examination that was conducted last Oct. 6, 7 and 13 at the following cities including Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban and Tuguegarao.
The national CPA licensure examination passing rate has been steadily declining at 41% in Oct. 2015, 36.48% in Oct. 2016 and 30.45% last Oct. 2017.
