In the battle of hoops, De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) Lady Stallions outscored Technological Research for Advanced Computer Education (TRACE) College Lady Stallions during the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) South women’s basketball eliminations at the DLSL Sports Complex, 73-59, Nov 17.
TRACE College pulled out their strong offensive and defensive capabilities which gave the Stallions a hard time finding their pace during the first quarter of the game.
However, the Lipa-based shooters found their rhythm with Lyrille Siscar leading the charge as she powered through TRACE’s defense to give them a two-point lead by the end of the first quarter, 19-17.
TRACE college were unable to fend off the rampaging green Stallions owing to DLSL co-team captain, Jhasmine Laylo who continuously slammed towards the basket, 33-29.
The scoreboard remained in the Green squad’s favor as Abigael Aranas shot off dagger three-pointers for an 11-point lead on the first half of the game, 40-29.
The Lipa-based shooters capitalized on the errors made by their opponents as they completely outran the TRACE Lady Stallions ending the game with a resounding 14-point lead, 73-59.
