Three hundred years after the death of St. John Baptist De La Salle, founder of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, students and Lasallian partners from De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) welcomed the founder’s relic in this year’s tercentenary celebration at the Sentrum loading bay, Aug 17.

A short prayer service was presided by Rev. Fr. Clarence Patag in veneration of the saint’s arm bone before the procession headed to the Capilla De San Juan Bautista De La Salle.

According to the Lasallian Ministries Director Ricardo Merano III, the relic tour in the campus is part of the 300 years tercentenary anniversary of St. La Salle’s death and is set to visit the other La Salle schools in the country.

Prior to its arrival in Lipa, the relic was at De La Salle Santiago Zobel.

“Dahil mayroon tayong jubilee celebration, iniikot siya [St. La Salle’s relic] sa buong La Salle schools sa buong Pilipinas,” said Merano.
