With an overall rating of 20%, four out of 20 De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) graduates passed the recently concluded Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE), May 31.

In an interview with Lavoxa Online, Jasmine Abigayle Pitogo, a 2022 DLSL graduate and one of the passers, shared that knowing her learning styles, cultivating the best strategies, and figuring out what works best for her contributed to her preparations for the examination.

“The CPALE was a test of mental and emotional fortitude and I overcome these challenges by doing my best, believing in my ability to reach my goals, having an amazing support system and finding strength and peace in the knowledge that God has amazing plans for my life,” said Pitogo.

Meanwhile, Kathleen Grace Magsombol, also a 2022 DLSL graduate, told Lavoxa Online that although she was familiar with some of the topics discussed during the review, she had a hard time with ones she had not mastered during college so she studied twice as hard on those subjects.

“Before the 3-day exam, I was confident that I would pass. But [as] each day of CPALE [passed], I started to doubt myself more and more because I really had a difficult time answering and was almost always running out of time […] and so when I saw my name, I was so grateful that I still made it,” said Magsombol.

Alongside Pitogo and Magsombol, DLSL passers also include Maria Julia Marquez and Audrey Reaño.

DLSL’s performance was 19.13% lower than its October 2022 rating and 10.37% lower than the national passing rate of 30.37%.

The CPALE was conducted at 17 testing centers nationwide last May 21 to 23.
