Twenty eight aspiring public accountants from De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) successfully passed the recent Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountant (LECPA), garnering a 26.92% passing rate, May 31.
Out of 93 alumni from DLSL, only 22 first time examinees made it to the list of board passers, recording a 23.66% passing rate. Meanwhile, 54.55% passing rate was attained after six out of eleven repeaters gained the CPA title.
In an interview with Lavoxa Online, Derrick Jantzen Gonzales, a first time CPALE taker, shared that as part of his preparations for the exam, he enrolled in two review centers while developing himself intellectually, physically and emotionally.
“For the whole review journey, as much as possible, I maintained 7-8 hours of sleep for me to be at my optimal state when studying. Furthermore, I also prepared my emotional/mental state such as coping up with stress and pressure,” said Gonzales.
With this, Gonzales also shared that his general advice for other students who aspire to be a certified public accountant in the future is to find the right strategies and techniques that work best for them.
Moreover, none qualified for the top performing schools after 3,155 out of 10,421 examinees were accredited at the board exams.
The nationwide examination was conducted last May 26 to 28 in different testing centers nationwide.
