De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) officially inaugurated Dr. Teodosia Merlin C. Suarez as the third chancellor of the institution as part of the 62nd foundation week celebration last Tuesday, Feb. 11.
In her speech, Dr. Suarez outlined her goals for the school’s future and described heading towards realistic and practical education that moves with an ever-changing society.
“True to our Lasallian tradition, our goal is clear. […] We will provide education that not only transforms, but also resonates with the ever evolving means of society,” she expressed.
Dr. Suarez urged that this vision needed commitment to relevant and transformative Christian education, appreciation of diverse cultures, and students becoming responsible global citizens through international internships.

“This road requires collaboration, and with enhanced patience, perseverance, and faith in one another. Though we may not always see the full picture, we’ll move forward one brick at a time,” she encouraged, adding that the school will be ready to pave the yellow brick road to academic improvement.
Further providing insights regarding the position, previous chancellor Dr. Erickson E. Martinez pointed out its importance in overseeing academics and the entire institution, commending Dr. Suarez’s expertise in computer science.
“With her experience [na] din, particularly in the field of computer science [..] her insights [..] ideas and inputs are very helpful, so I think she’ll be a very good chancellor,” responded Dr. Martinez.
The investiture ceremony began with a ceremonial mass, followed by the vesting of the academic regalia and chancellor’s medal facilitated by brother president, Br. Edmundo “Dodo” Fernandez FSC and concluded with the inauguration of the third chancellor.
