The second semester of the school year started with former College Guidance Head Welmer Adajar being appointed as the new Officer-in-Charge for Student Services after Director Amelito Castillo, resigned last Jan. 29.

Castillo explained that the reason behind his resignation is for him to focus on his Ph.D dissertation writing in De La Salle University-Dasmariñas.

“Nagkataon namang trisemester ang DLSU-Dasmariñas at ang start ng semester ay January kaya napilitan akong magresign in the middle of the term,” Castillo said.

Instead, he will be serving as a full-time professor in the college and senior high school.

With the appointment being Adajar, Castillo believes that he will handle the position well.

“Lagi namang kasama si Welmer as member of the discipline board kaya sa tingin ko kaya niya dahil meron namang s’yang experience sa discipline board,” the former DSS expressed.

Meanwhile, Adajar has stated that he plans to make the discipline, guidance  and student activities offices more responsive and proactive to the needs of the students.

“[Ang gusto ko ay] hindi na kailangan hintayin pa yung problema para umaksyon. Dapat ma-anticipate ng mga offices yung mga problema,” Adajar said.

With Adajar as the DSS-OIC, Rosalie Prospero was appointed as OIC of the College Guidance.

Adajar’s and Prospero’s appointments are effective until the end of the semester.
