Following the theft incident in the Student’s Center last May 31, Institutional Safety, Security, and Emergency Services Office (ISSESO) Head Michael Kasilag said that additional CCTV cameras are to be installed in the building next school year.

As stated in Lavoxa’s previous article, there were no CCTV cameras in the vicinity where a student’s bag was reported to have been stolen and then thrown in a trash bin.

The Student’s Center was opened in 2016, along with the CBEAM Building and the Sports Complex. However, to date, only the CBEAM Building and the Sports Complex have been installed with CCTV’s.

Kasilag explained the reason for the delay, which is the centralization of the CCTVs in the campus.

However, he said that the CCTVS of the CBEAM building and the Sports Complex are to be upgraded while new units will be installed in the Student Center next school year.

He also said that they are planning to double the number of CCTVs in the campus.

Meanwhile, Discipline Office Head Connie Endozo said that they have not investigated on the incident yet because no formal incident report has been filed yet to their office.
