The Fashion and Attitude Diplomats (FAD), De La Salle Lipa’s (DLSL) fashion organization, hosts Magna Decada, a fashion event showcasing styles from the 1960s to present day, at the Sentrum, Feb. 14.

Hosted by Nadine Aubrey Igle and Marcus Castillo, the models strutted down the stage and walked around the Sentrum with their best attires in front of fashion enthusiasts and Lasallian partners.

Each model showcased a specific fashion style inspired by well-known icons from each decade such as the Spice Girls, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, and more.

Trisha Silva, a participant in Magna Decada fashion show, graces the runway with her Lady Gaga inspired outfit (Sophia C.).

According to Kaycee Laqui, one of FAD’s representatives, the organization aims to change people’s minds about fashion organizations and fashion in general and encourage many to prioritize self-expression and preference regardless of body type.

“Gusto naming i-convey [na] there are different styles from different decades and as of today, there are certain people na gusto pa rin yung older style compared sa new style, so we want to inspire them na […] napapanahon pa din ang mga gusto nilang damit,” said Laqui.

One of the Lasallian models, Efren Maranang, a fourth-year Psychology student, shared how he was inspired by the event’s concept of fashion and how it mirrors people’s fashion sense changing through the years.

“For me it’s not about fashion anymore, it’s about the progress. As we evolve, it just shows how we progress as human beings, at the same time, we progress with style,” said Manarang.
