De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) achieved an overall rating of 24.14% as seven accountancy graduates passed the recently concluded Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE), Oct. 6.

In an interview with Lavoxa Online, James Joseph Cardenas, a 2022 graduate of DLSL and a successful passer, highlighted the importance of taking review classes even in a short period of time.

“The four-month period of review was too short for me, but I ensured that I would be able to cover the syllabus of the licensure examination,” said Cardenas.

He also shared that prior to taking the board examinations, he didn’t have any expectations except knowing that it would be difficult and tried to set his thoughts on the possible questions that could appear by using the review as a basis.

“Nothing worth having comes easy. All our emotions are valid […]. But always bear in mind that everything will be worth it in time. […] The goal shouldn’t only be surviving every semester, but should also be preparing oneself for the actual board exam in the future. […] Be focused and have a purpose every day, ” Cardenas added.

DLSL’s recent performance exceeded its May 2023 rating by 4.14% but fell short of the national passing rate of 31.37% by 7.23%.

The CPALE was administered at 18 testing centers across the country from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2.
