De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) acquired seven newly licensed secondary education teachers, out of nine examinees, generating a total passing rate of 77.78%, in the recently administered Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), Dec. 7.
In an interview with Lavoxa Online, Hilary Fei Santos and Anna Therese Reyes, both DLSL passers and colleagues expressed their gratitude for being each other’s support system, and thanked their families and loved ones who supported them in their journey.
“I want to thank my mom, my son […] Actually, I do not believe in myself that much, but their faith in me is powerful, prayers really are powerful,” Santos explained.
In addition, Santos explained that it was a tough experience working as a teacher during weekdays and reviewing every weekend.
Meanwhile, Reyes said that, “I am currently working in a different field, but teaching will always have a special place in my heart because I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was a child. […] I am grateful for passing the LET.”
Furthermore, Santos shared her tips for aspiring teachers like her as she emphasized that kindness is an integral value in achieving their dreams, and hardwork will always pay off in time.
DLSL previously achieved an 83.33% passing rate in secondary education, a 5.55% decrease with the recent passing rate.
Recording a 47.01% national passing rate, a total of 23,782 elementary teachers succeeded in the examination, while 53,995 secondary teachers were accredited, resulting in a 56.26% national average.
The 2023 LET was conducted at several testing centers across the country last September 24.
