ECHOES Ablaze: The 13th Refraction immersed attendees with its crystal-and-glass concept, as mainstream and breakout talents showcase their discographies, alongside renditions of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) classics, at the Oval on Feb. 13.
Better Days led the annual concert with their hit “Nararamdaman,” which was followed by performances of Eliza Maturan’s “Museo” and JAO’s bubbly performance of “Torpe.”

HEY JUNE! also rocked the stage with their hit song “LASIK” prior to Amiel Sol’s serene renditions of Sugarfree’s “Burnout” and his song, “Sa Bawat Sandali.”
With the intention of providing an enjoyable experience for the students, Council of Student Organizations (CSO) Chairperson Claire Mari Katigbak shared the brainstorming process behind the concert’s inaugural launch of VIP tickets, opening the once-exclusive section to concertgoers.

“So before kasi ang vip natin ay yung sponsors natin, pero ngayon we decided to open the vip for students kasi marami ring students ang nagrerequest for them,” said Katigbak.
Regular stickers were sold for P700.00 while VIP tickets retailed for P1,500.00, granting VIPs front-row seats and inclusions such as a tote bag, VIP ID Pass, ECHOES Shirt, and snacks and drinks.
Katigbak also mentioned how they came up with this year’s theme, highlighting their creative efforts in curating a unique experience for viewers.
“So ayun nag brainstorm kami ng different concepts, […] we ended up having this parang prism-like concept […] as you can see sa mga pub mats namin, parang may mga mirrors, refractions,” Katigbak added.

Hannah Leah Villanueva, a second-year BS Biology student, said the event went beyond her expectations as she indulged in the last portion of the concert.
“Iba pa rin ‘yung feeling na patapos na ‘yung event, and then syempre mayroong magja-jamming na kayo ng mga kasama [at] friends mo. It was not that overwhelming pero super enjoyable,” she added.
In addition, aspiring Lasallian musicians, including Shanika, To Be Discussed, Lunara, Syncopato, and The Mallies, entertained the audience during the pre-show.
The concert’s proceeds are allocated to CSO’s community involvement and Gawad Lasalyano, an annual event honoring student leaders for their hard work throughout the year.
