Lavoxa staffers Venus Ashley Gonzales and Prince Al Punzalan notched two first-place victories in the recently concluded International English Festival (I-EFEST 2026) hosted and organized by Widyatama University at Bandung, Indonesia, Feb. 11.

Gonzales, a second-year nursing student and Lavoxa Online broadcaster, emerged on top in the News Anchor category. Contestants in this division were given three to four minutes to deliver their news report, which were evaluated on delivery style, intonation, articulation, and pronunciation.

Moreover, in the Creative Vlog competition, first-year multimedia arts student and Lavoxa Online video editor Punzalan also bagged the champion title. Entries required participants to produce a five- to seven-minute vlog focusing on technology-driven solutions that address global challenges aligned with the United Nations’ (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As part of the visit, De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) Vice Chancellor for Academics (VCA) Tessie Palma also discussed the integration of English language in college Mathematics courses, while DLSL Finance and Resource Department (FRD) Head Lea Del Rio delivered a lecture on risk management and strategies for institutional resilience among students and faculty members.

Under the theme “Light, Stage, Action for Sustainability,” the festival staged six competitions centered on English proficiency and creativity with 180 delegates from Indonesia, India, Timor-Leste, and the Philippines.
