Lasallian Cup 2024 pioneers with new rivalries following the theme, “Empires Unleashed”, at the De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) Sentrum, Nov. 19.
Reigning champions CBEAM Calormen and archrival CITE Archenland clashed with emerging contenders as CON Underland marched sovereign and CEAS-CIHTM Terebinthia flaunted their blue and green banner.
Following the introduction of each empire, Mr. Jericho Adajar, a De La Salle University (DLSU) athlete and the event’s keynote speaker, highlighted the importance of camaraderie within the Lasallian community.
Chancellor Merlin Teodosia Suarez likewise encouraged the students during her opening remarks to not only de-stress but also learn from the experiences brought by the sportsfest.
To formally start the annual competition, the current team captains and athletes participated in the ceremonial toss, oath of sportsmanship, and torch-lighting traditions.
Further adding to the excitement, Alpha Alliance, DLSL’s Danzcom Pep Squad, and Musikalista fired up the crowd with their intermission numbers.
Evoking loud cheers from their respective departments, Mr. and Ms. Lasallian Cup candidates dazzled the runway and drew the ceremony to a close.
