PSL, DLSL join forces for Marawi benefit games

De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) sports office and the Philippine Super Liga (PSL) management brought volleyball games in the Sentrum in part of the Laro Para sa Marawi Project, Nov 18.

Two games from the elimination rounds of the Chooks to Go PSL Grand Prix Tournament were held: Foton Tornadoes VS Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors, and UST Victoria Sports VS the Lasallian cored F2 Logistics Cargo Movers.

Foton and the Cargo Movers both dominated their opponents as they swept the Lady Realtors and the Victoria Sports, 3-0.

The project was proposed by Emily Babasa, the institutional sports and culture director, in response to the request of the Lasallian Brothers community.

“There are some Maranaos who fled to La Salle Iligan, and then there was a call from the Brother’s community for donations,” Babasa said.

Babasa also tapped help from the Parents Educators Nurturing Cooperation and Integrity La Salle Lipa (PENCIL), Inc. of the Integrated School, who suggested to bring the PSL in the campus.

“Hindi pa tigil ang kanilang problema, bawat patak ng pawis ninyo ay may maisusubo tayo sa mga Maranao na walang makain,” Babasa recalled what she told the players before the game.

Besides from the PSL event, three other events which wereheld on the 22nd and the 16th of November showcased basketball games, and other local teams as part of the project.
